方正龙爪体是在日本欣喜堂公司的授权下，根据日文同款字体开发而成的。龙爪体在最初设计时，是以孝宗年间发行的中国儒教根本教义之一的《周礼》为字样，字体水平方向的收笔、曲折都像是龙爪一样，很有力度，故名龙爪体。方正龙爪体字型优美，笔画刚劲有力，鲜明的个性和视觉美感兼而有之。
